I really liked your recorded voice. It reminds me of a seasoned voice speaker. A radio guy. You could easily read audiobooks for $. It was interesting to hear about your teachery years. (bet that's not a word...) You have a worthy profession to be proud of there, Jim! And I bet some fun stories:)
Thanks paul. The best thing is I posted it to facebook. Within an hour or two I heard from about 12 or 13 of my former students. It was really touching.
I was going to say much of the same thing. But me thinks Jim would be pulled into too many directions, recording audio books takes alot of time and I'm guessing his time is better spent writing....Good post Jim, as always
Excellent piece, Jim. I enjoyed learning about your teaching history and evolution. I still remember several teachers who truly impacted me growing up, rarely considered the time, energy and generosity they gave to me. Hopefully you have a flock of ex-students who remember you fondly like that.
yes, I almost forgot. I really enjoyed hearing you tell the story. In fact, I didn’t even read along. I listened to it while I was walking my dog. did you just talk into your phone or did you use a fancier microphone?
No, recorded directly from my laptop. There's no editing keys to Substack's direct recording function that I could see. Next time I'll probably use a downloaded recording app with more functionality.

I bet. Good for you, Jim!

Thanks DJoy. I have a face made for radio, too. 😉
I did meet with a modeling/talent agency last year. They said they could find me voiceover work. I should follow up.
Jim,
It was a pleasure to "meet" you
by hearing you speak to me!
You have a wonderful warm voice
bringing your written words
to full connection.
Your passion for teaching
is alive and well.
I'm in the front row!

I do. I posted this on Facebook, and they've come calling from 15 years ago. Very cool.
By the way, did you use the voiceover? How did it sound?
